Speaker(s)

Prof. Elisa Giovannetti
Amsterdam University Medical Centers (Amsterdam UMC), the Netherlands; Cancer Pharmacology Lab, Fondazione Pisana per la Scienza,Italy.
Prof. Elisa Giovannetti is a cancer pharmacologist at Amsterdam University Medical Centers (Amsterdam UMC), the Netherlands, and leads the Cancer Pharmacology Lab at Fondazione Pisana per la Scienza, Italy. She holds the Italian National Scientific Habilitation as Full Professor of Pharmacology. Her translational research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of anticancer drug resistance, pharmacogenetics, and biomarkers of treatment response, with particular emphasis on pancreatic and thoracic cancers. Her work also explores innovative preclinical models and therapeutic combinations to improve treatment efficacy.

Prof. Elisa Espinet
School of Medicine, University of Barcelona; Bellvitge Institute of Research in Biomedicin, Spain.
Prof. Elisa Espinet is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Barcelona, and Head of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Group at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), Spain. After completing her PhD at IRB Barcelona, she conducted research at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the Heidelberg Institute for Stem Cell Technology and Experimental Medicine. Her research focuses on pancreatic cancer heterogeneity, tumor–stroma interactions, and the tumor microenvironment. In 2026, she received a FERO grant to investigate stromal determinants of response and resistance to Pan-KRAS inhibitors.

Prof. Paola Cappello
The University of Turin, Italy
Prof. Paola Cappello is Full Professor in the Department of Molecular Biotechnology and Health Sciences at the University of Turin, Italy, where she has also served as Director of the PhD Program in Molecular Medicine since 2024. With a PhD in Immunology, her research focuses on pancreatic cancer immunology and the tumor microenvironment. Her work investigates the IL-17 family as a potential therapeutic target and explores strategies to reshape the tumor microenvironment and improve immunotherapy, supported by competitive research funding, including an Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC) grant.

Prof. Jun Yu
Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital, China.
Prof. Jun Yu is Director of the Office of the National Drug Clinical Trial Institution, Director of the Pancreatic Cancer Prevention and Treatment Research Center, and Director of the Clinical Research Department at the Innovation Center of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital, China. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, USA. His research focuses on the tumor microenvironment, cancer immunotherapy, and clinical trials. He has published over 150 scientific papers, received more than 10,000 citations, and led major research initiatives, including National Science and Technology Major Projects in China.
